Cartell.ie among first in Ireland to drive brand new Audi A4
Vehicle History and Data Expert Cartell.ie were among the first in Ireland to test-drive the brand new Audi A4. Regular readers of our blog will be aware that Jeff Aherne drove this vehicle at an event in Germany earlier in the year. At a showcase corporate event in Leopardstown last week Cartell.ie were first treated to some lunch followed by tea/coffee before taking our seats inside the auditorium while representatives from the VW Group (Audi Ireland) briefed us on the brand new Audi A4.
This machine has been completely re-built on a new platform and takes design queues from both the Audi Q7 and Audi racing heritage. The interior, including steering wheel and instrument cluster, looked particularly sharp. We also loved the Audi Matrix LED headlights. Internal lighting will also appeal to customers. Representatives were at pains to point out the level of detail of this new “progressive” machine including wing mirrors (which appear on the door) and which required 3 specially-designed stripes to reduce noise inside the cabin to the lowest possible level. There is also extra space in the rear for passengers and a lot of additional equipment is supplied as standard. In fact representatives explained to Cartell.ie that the consumer can avail of thousands of euro worth of extra equipment over the older generation model for a lower list price. There is lots of standard kit. For instance the entry level model now comes with Speed Limiter, Xenon Headlights, electric lumbar support and Keyless Go.
Our test drive was in the S-Line 150BHP Audi A4 and we loved the way it handled and its responsiveness in corners. There is a dynamic driving mode which is sure to please its target audience. Overall we really enjoyed our day courtesy of Audi and we feel the brand new Audi A4 will appeal to a wide market.
