Back to the Future Day – 28 DeLoreans still live in Ireland!
Today is October 21st 2015: Vehicle data expert CARTELL.IE likes its science fiction films and for fans of the Back to the Future films you will know that today is the day that the DeLorean time machine traveled to in the hit cult film. From Wikipedia:
The DeLorean returns to 1985 and proceeds to travel to October 21, 2015 to stop Marty’s future son from committing a crime. While there, the DeLorean is stolen by Biff who then travels back to November 12, 1955, the same day as the climax of the first film…Due to a “hover conversion” made in 2015, the car also becomes capable of hovering and flight, though it lost this ability at the end of the second film.”
Out of curiosity, and considering the day that’s in it, we had a look to see how many DeLorean’s are on the roads in the Republic of Ireland. There are, in fact, 36 in Ireland – 28 of those are still live on the roads. All of them are imports!
Marty Mc Fly says:
That was one of my favourite films when I was a kid. The cars still look cool!
