Luxury Motor Vehicle Exodus
PRESS RELEASE
LUXURY MOTOR VEHICLE EXODUS
Used Car History Check expert Cartell.ie report today (22 February, 2013) that vehicle EXPORTS out of Ireland are now at their highest level since the recession commenced. Exports have increased by 61% in the last six years. Exports in 2012 were 6% higher than in 2011.
There were 7,855 vehicles exported out of Ireland in 2012. Luxury marques featured significantly: Bentley, Cadillac, Jaguar and Porsche vehicles were among those exported. Several Harley-Davidson bikes were also recorded as exported in 2012.
The research results show a significant percentage, almost 10%, were exported with finance still outstanding in the Republic of Ireland. Purchasers of those vehicles abroad may find their vehicle subsequently repossessed – Irish banks retain title even when the asset leaves the jurisdiction.
